About me
My name is Judith and I am a freelance journalist from Utrecht. I tell stories about culture, travel, music and many more topics in which I can express my inexhaustible curiosity. My publications can be read in 3 op Reis, 3voor12 and Metro, among others. I also subtitle various programs, documentaries and films for other Netflix, VPRO, Zapp, NTR, Njam and the Rijksmuseum. I also like to photograph in my spare time, preferably on analogue film. All the pictures on this website are made by me.

Even before I could find the keyboard, I always had pen stains on my hands. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to spend every free hour writing stories. Language has always fascinated me and the way words can create something new from nothing, has always fascinated me. My childhood dream to become a writer has never faded, but has now made way for the ambition to make a career as a journalist.
How it started
After a bachelor's degree in Human Geography & Neuropsychology at Utrecht University, I traveled alone through South America for six months. This is where my great passion for traveling arose and in Ecuador I suddenly realized what I had loved most all my life: writing. I decided to take a different path and started a master's degree in Media & Journalism at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Because I had developed such a love for traveling and everything that came with it, I did an internship at 3 op Reis for a year. Here I wrote many articles for the website, but I also helped writing scripts for the episodes.
Where I am now
With a master's degree and a lot of writing and travel experience, I want to be able to turn my passion into my job: telling stories, preferably beyond the clichés and with words that can inspire readers. Even though I prefer to write about culture, travel, music or human interest, I love being able to delve into a new subject and immerse myself in research. I enjoy helping my clients tell beautiful, important stories and hope that my skills and background can make a difference in this process.
